Training starts: The future begins

Seven apprentices start their careers at the Munk Group

02/09/2022

Press release

The start of the month of September was equally exciting for the Munk Group and seven young people: because with the start of their apprenticeship at the family-owned company, the young people are taking their first step towards a professional future. Over the next three years, they will complete their apprenticeships as industrial clerks and metal workers specialising in construction technology, as well as warehouse specialists and IT specialists.

Owner and Managing Director Ferdinand Munk welcomed the newcomers together with their parents and gave them a tour of the 150,000 square metres of production space at the two locations and informed them about the philosophy of the access technology specialist. The "fresh" trainees learned that not only ladders of all kinds are part of the product range. Rolling scaffolds and special constructions such as docking and maintenance systems for aircraft and trains, transport logistics as well as rescue technology and profile technology also leave the plants all over the world. The fact that the company promise "Safety. Made in Germany" and quality work are lived here day after day was just as noticeable on the tour as the team-oriented working atmosphere and the social responsibility assumed for the employees.

After the tour of the company, the young professionals were allowed to take up their workplaces in their first training stations and get a taste of their future tasks. The Munk Group follows a concept of responsibility, co-determination as well as broadening horizons. "Our trainees are fully confronted with their future areas of responsibility at an early stage and are involved in projects. In doing so, we provide targeted support, but we also demand a high level of commitment, flexibility and willingness to learn," said Ferdinand Munk. In addition to the rotation through the business areas and departments of the company and the vocational school lessons, the trainees are intensively supervised in the company's own training facility CAMPUS. The training concept of the "TOP100" company, which was recently certified with the 'Job and Family' audit, offers projects, workshops and individual support. This creates ideal conditions in which the young people can gain a variety of learning experiences. The next few weeks will be particularly varied for the young people: introductory activities, project work and a team excursion for all trainees are on the agenda.

Currently, a total of 21 apprentices are employed at the Munk Group. With a qualified degree, they will have a solid foundation for their further career at the end of their apprenticeship. "We are proud of the young people who qualify with us and work towards their goals with commitment and responsibility. Good training is the key to success - for the young people themselves, but also for us as a growth company that relies on qualified young people," Munk continues.
