26/07/2023

Press release

The Munk Group, headquartered in Günzburg, is once again one of the best medium-sized companies in Bavaria. The Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy has now named the family-owned company Bavaria's Best 50. Ferdinand Munk (owner and managing director) and his team had already received the coveted award in 2014. The award winners were determined by an auditing company as an independent juror on behalf of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs.

"In the past five years, they have defied the difficult conditions to a special degree and have grown above average. Both in the number of employees and in turnover. This shows that they are indeed among the best medium-sized companies in Bavaria" said State Secretary for Economic Affairs Roland Weigert, representing Minister Hubert Aiwanger, at the award ceremony, which took place at Schleißheim Castle.

The Minister sees the Munk Group and the other award winners as "absolute entrepreneurial role models. The prize puts them more in the public eye according to their economic and social importance."

For Ferdinand Munk, the Bavaria's Best 50 award is a very special distinction. "The past few years in particular have been special years for our family business. We have grown strongly and have also implemented an investment volume in the double-digit millions for a new company location in Leipheim and the plant expansion in Günzburg. At the same time, we have mastered a transformation process - with a new company structure that secures the future for our employees and their families and consistently focuses on sustainability. I cannot express in words how proud I am of our great team. I am very happy to accept the award on behalf of our team, because this was truly a great joint effort by all of us," Ferdinand Munk explained at the award ceremony together with Alexander Werdich, who as son-in-law and managing director represents the fifth family generation.

Family takes responsibility

In autumn 2021, the family-owned company Günzburger Steigtechnik GmbH repositioned itself under the umbrella of the Munk Group, anchoring the conscious responsibility of the Munk family of entrepreneurs in its name. Under the company promise "Munk - Safety. Made in Germany", the Munk Group has been self-confident ever since, and its success proves the company right. In the past years, Ferdinand Munk and his team have developed many innovations in the field of access and rescue technology, which contribute to increasing safety at the workplace or in rescue operations. "As we know, health is our most valuable asset, and we see it as our mission to protect people in the best possible way with our products and services" says Munk.

For the Munk Group, the renewed award as Bavaria's Best 50 is an incentive for future-oriented and sustainable further development for the future. "We want to continue to shape the industry as a technology and innovation leader. To this end, we will continue to expand our pioneering position, especially in the core topics of occupational safety, digitalisation and sustainability," says Munk. To this end, the company is planning further investments in the double-digit millions over the next five years.
