InnoTrans: Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik presents innovative solutions for the railway industry and railway maintenance

05/08/2024

Press release

Reduce downtimes and cycle times while making processes more efficient and safer: Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik will be demonstrating how this works from 24 to 27 September at InnoTrans in Berlin (Hall 6.2, Stand 335). The quality manufacturer from Bavaria will be presenting its innovative access technology solutions for the production, maintenance and repair of railway vehicles. These range from front and roof working platforms and walkway systems to bridging steps, track platforms and scissor lifts. As a trade fair highlight, Munk will be presenting a maintenance and work platform with a fold-out safety cage at its stand. Visitors to InnoTrans will be able to inspect the system directly at the stand and experience first-hand how safe and convenient it is to work with the high-end maintenance solutions from Günzburg.

"In the production and maintenance of commercial and rail vehicles, maximum efficiency is essential at all times. To ensure this top efficiency, occupational safety is absolutely essential and must be taken into account right from the planning stage. With our innovative special constructions such as front and roof working platforms and walkways, our tanker ladders and industry-specific access solutions such as work and track platforms, platform stairs and bridging steps, we fulfil these requirements. We optimise work processes and thus increase efficiency in production and maintenance workshops," says Ferdinand Munk, owner and Managing Director of the Munk Group based in Günzburg and Leipheim.

Also suitable for assembly

With the roof working platforms from Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik, for example, technicians can optimally reach the modules and components installed on the roof. The roof working platforms are available in different versions and designs, ranging from the customised, fully automatic version, which can be adjusted and moved in height with millimetre precision, to permanently installed systems with fixed working heights. This means that even companies with a lower investment volume can purchase a particularly economical and safe system. These are not only suitable for maintenance, but can also be used as assembly lines in the production of locomotives, railcars and carriages. Solutions in which the work platforms can be docked to the outer skin of the vehicles with a gap of zero offer maximum safety. This does not necessarily require a power socket, as the electrically adjustable work platforms from Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik are also available as cordless versions.

A wide range of standardised basic solutions

In addition to its customised special constructions, Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik offers a whole range of standardised basic solutions for rail and commercial vehicles, which increase efficiency in workshops and at the same time protect maintenance personnel and vehicles. These include modular catwalks, work platforms, steps and platform steps, scissor lifts and special tanker ladders. The access technology products from the quality manufacturer's standard range of over 2,500 items also help with a lot of work on trains.

A platform for all occasions

Anyone who needs to work efficiently on railway tracks should take a look at the track platform from Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik in Berlin. This innovation is the first ever linkable work platform for track areas. Thanks to the optional connecting part, any number of track platforms can be linked together without gaps, thus maximising work safety even when working over large areas and when crossing the track pit. The platform can be completely driven over and is suitable for main track types S49, S54 and 60E. The working platform offers a working area of approx. 1.70 m2. The track platform is designed for loads of up to 300 kg.

Quickly and safely to the top: With the FlexxLift

Visitors to InnoTrans can reach the top quickly and safely with the FlexxLift mini elevating work platform - at working heights of up to 4.20 metres. The FlexxLift is powered by an ingenious mechanism without electricity and is mobile and can be used by individuals regardless of location.
