Shorter downtimes and faster cycle times, even more efficient and even safer processes: Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik shows how this is achieved at its stand at InnoTrans 2026 in Berlin, from 22 to 25 September (Hall 6.2, Stand 335). The quality manufacturer from Bavaria presents its innovative access solutions for the production, servicing and maintenance of buses and rail vehicles.
The solutions range from front and roof working platforms to walkway systems and various maintenance and working platforms, workstation platforms and mobile platform stairs, which can be individually configured using Munk's own configurator. The highlight of Munk's stand in Berlin is a height-adjustable maintenance and working platform with a fold-out safety cage for buses, which InnoTrans visitors can try out for themselves at the stand.
A wide range of products for assembly and maintenance
"Workplace safety is the most important factor in the production and maintenance of commercial and rail vehicles. After all, safety also means greater efficiency at work," says Ferdinand Munk, owner and managing director of the Munk Group, based in Günzburg and Leipheim. "We deliver this safety with innovative custom solutions, such as roof working stands and various working platforms, our walkway systems and tanker ladders. Our access solutions too — various platforms, stairs and bridging steps — are designed to be completely safe. In this way, we not only ensure efficient work in production and maintenance workshops, but also that employees can always work safely and comfortably."
InnoTrans 2026: Munk showcases height-adjustable working platform with safety cage
Safety is built right into the name of the height-adjustable, mobile working platform with safety cage for bus maintenance on show in Berlin. The platform height can be varied between 1,900 and 3,150 mm, adapting to any vehicle height. An internal Vario staircase allows comfortable access. Rubber buffers along the long side protect the bus when the safety cage is folded down and during assembly or maintenance work. The safety cage ensures user safety, and its footboard can be lowered as required. A paired braking system ensures the platform, which can bear a total load of 400 kilograms, is securely positioned.
A platform for safe working in the track area
Also on show in Berlin: Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik's track platform — the first-ever linkable workstation platform for the track area. Thanks to an optional connecting piece, any number of track platforms can be joined together without gaps, maximising workplace safety for large-scale work and when crossing the pit. The platform can be fully driven over and is suitable for the main track types S49, S54 and 60E. The workstation platform offers a working surface of approx. 1.70 m² and is rated for loads of up to 300 kg.
New maintenance platform for the pit
Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik is also showing its new maintenance platform for pits in Berlin. Its lifting table can be hydraulically adjusted from 522 up to 1,422 mm in height via a foot pedal. Steering castors on the underside move the platform along the track, with a foot lever used for braking and securing it in place.
Modular access technology for maintenance
From its standard range for everyday maintenance work on trains and commercial vehicles, Munk is presenting a pluggable platform ladder at InnoTrans that can be extended as needed, enabling working heights of between 2.45 and 3.90 metres. This is achieved using modular plug-in uprights that are quick and easy to assemble via hook locks. Generously sized platforms with non-slip surfaces ensure a secure footing, while an optional back guard provides even greater safety.
An individual product in just a few clicks
Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik's mobile platform stairs are also suitable for maintenance work on a variety of vehicles. InnoTrans 2026 visitors can see this for themselves and then go on to configure their ideal model using the mobile platform stairs configurator. "This way, everyone can design their own platform stairs, tailored exactly to their needs," explains Alexander Werdich, also owner and managing director of the Munk Group.
Fast and safe access: the FlexxLift
Visitors to InnoTrans can get up fast and safely with the new generation of the FlexxLift — a small work platform for working at heights of up to five metres. The FlexxLift can be used mobile and completely independently of location, operated by a single person. Its robust design ensures a long service life.
A wide range of further standardised base solutions
Alongside the products and custom solutions on display at InnoTrans, Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik also offers a whole range of further standardised base solutions for track and commercial vehicles. All of them increase efficiency in workshops while protecting both maintenance staff and the vehicles being worked on. These base solutions include modular walkways, working platforms, further stairs and platform stairs, scissor lifts and special tanker ladders. Many jobs on trains are also supported by access products from the quality manufacturer's standard range of more than 2,500 items.
Safety and functionality come first
The principle remains constant: in developing all its access solutions, Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik places great value on the highest quality, functionality and safety.
