In the 2025 fiscal year, the Munk Group, headquartered in Günzburg and Leipheim, continued in just one direction: upward. The technology and innovation leader in climbing and rescue equipment not only increased its revenue once again over the past twelve months but also invested heavily — including in a new customer center and another production facility in Günzburg.
“I’m especially pleased that we can close our 125th anniversary year with growth in all areas. It shows that even in a year of celebration, we stayed focused and once again delivered top performance across all departments and divisions. We are a true premium provider through and through. I’m very proud of our entire team and glad that we were able to further expand our strong market position and our ‘Made in Germany’ production,” says Ferdinand Munk, owner and CEO of the Munk Group.
One highlight after another
In 2025, one highlight followed another at the Munk Group, all tied to the anniversary number 125. A major milestone came in summer with the opening of the new customer center in Günzburg, featuring a 540 m² exhibition hall. “As part of that, we redesigned and modernized a 2,000 m² section of our Plant 1, improved its energy efficiency, and connected the entire site to our woodchip heating system. That’s a true milestone for us, as we now cover 40% of our total heating energy needs from renewable sources — bringing us a big step closer to our CO₂-neutrality goal,” explains Alexander Werdich, also owner and CEO of the Munk Group.
New production facility on Lochfelbenstraße
The Munk Group also expanded in 2025 with “Plant 4,” a new production site on nearby Lochfelbenstraße, covering a total area of 17,000 m². It now houses Munk Profiltechnik as well as products from the online configurators, providing room for further growth in the coming years.
Munk Kids Clubhouse
The youngest members of the Munk family — the Munk Kids — also have plenty of space in their new clubhouse, which spans 70 m² and includes a covered play area of 250 m².
Further investments planned
Ferdinand Munk, Alexander Werdich, and their team are already planning additional investments in Günzburg and Leipheim. “We remain on a growth path and will invest a double-digit million amount over the next few years to modernize the machinery at all four plants and expand the Munk Rescue Technology site in Leipheim. We see it as our entrepreneurial responsibility to strengthen Germany as a location and to secure and create jobs in our home region,” says Ferdinand Munk. The company’s strong position supports these plans: in 2025, with over 450 employees, the Munk Group once again ranked among the best in the climbing and rescue technology industry — backed by awards such as the Plus X Award for “Best Brand 2025” and, for the sixth time, the “Top 100 Innovator” title.
Optimistic outlook
The word “standstill” is not in Ferdinand Munk’s vocabulary. His team always looks ahead, and for him, one thing is clear: “The future is created where people dare to change together. That’s our motto for 2026.” There will be no boredom — with the rollout of a new ERP software system, additional digitalization projects, and a packed 2026 event calendar. In June, the company will attend Interschutz in Hanover, the world’s largest trade fair for firefighting and rescue services. “It’s an excellent opportunity to further strengthen our Rescue Technology division,” says Ferdinand Munk.
New markets in Defence and public safety organizations
The Munk Group also sees great potential in another segment: With products from its Günzburger Steigtechnik and Rescue Technology divisions, the company is a strong partner for the defense industry, the German Armed Forces, and public safety organizations. “Whether for maintenance and repair of emergency vehicles, civilian use, or military operations — our safety and operational technology products are in high demand, and we intend to continue expanding this field,” says Alexander Werdich.
