Accidents regularly happen in winter when ice sheets come loose from the roofs of trucks or coaches. Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik de-icing systems and de-icing scaffolds can eliminate this danger and significantly increase road safety. With stationary installations and modular scaffolds, as well as mobile de-icing scaffolding systems, this quality manufacturer offers a wide range for greater safety on the road. Stationary installations are mainly used at service areas, truck stops or directly on the premises of logistics companies, businesses and municipal utilities, municipal facilities or depots. The mobile scaffolds, by contrast, make completely location-independent “de-icing to go” possible.
Whether through carelessness, negligence, time pressure or simply a lack of suitable equipment, long-haul and bus drivers all too often fail to clear snow and ice from the roofs and tarpaulins of their vehicles. Yet de-icing trucks and coaches is not a voluntary extra but an absolute obligation. Section 1 of the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) already stipulates that no other road user may be endangered.
Danger recognised, danger averted
With its de-icing systems and scaffolds, Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik has the solution. “Danger recognised, danger averted. I am pleased that more and more companies are installing our de-icing systems at their depots. The snowy, icy and precipitation-rich winters, as well as long cold spells, have shown many people how important vehicle de-icing is. Demand for our de-icing systems and scaffolds has risen sharply,” says Ferdinand Munk, owner and Managing Director of Munk Group. Road safety can be improved at very short notice: all de-icing systems and scaffolds from Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik are available ex works within ten days. For orders placed by 30 November 2026, the company currently offers a 15% discount.
Configure installations yourself with the modular system
Customers of Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik can quickly, easily and cost-effectively assemble stationary de-icing installations and scaffolds themselves using a practical modular system. Three platform lengths (1,260, 1,860 or 3,060 mm) are available for the de-icing installations, each with a matching stair module. The installations consist of high-strength, stable and particularly robust aluminium profiles, with a steel grating platform surface and a stable substructure. The stationary scaffold, with a standard platform length of 5,210 mm, can also be adapted individually to customer requirements. The stationary constructions ensure maximum safety when accessing them and when working on vehicles, thanks to handrails on the stair ascents, railings on the front and long sides, and safety doors.
The pre-configured installation
New to the range is the fully pre-configured de-icing installation, with a total platform length of 15.96 m and a platform width of 850 mm. With a platform height of three metres and a 1.1-metre-high railing, it provides ideal working conditions for de-icing as well as for maintenance and repair of trucks and coaches.
Mobile: the de-icing scaffold
Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik also offers mobile de-icing. The mobile de-icing scaffold moves on four swivel castors and can be set up quickly and safely without any tools. Assembly uses plug-in connections and self-locking locking claws. Under the motto “De-icing to go”, the mobile scaffolds can be stored for transport in a mobile container with lattice box and loaded onto a truck. This makes them particularly flexible and independent of location.
Also in use in summer
Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik’s de-icing systems and scaffolds can remain set up all year round. They are fully weather-resistant and maintenance-free. “This means they can also be used in summer, for example for repairs to a truck tarpaulin or roof,” explains Ferdinand Munk. The constructions are part of the standard range of this Bavarian quality manufacturer. This enables fast delivery within ten working days and also translates into very good value for money.
